[Requirements]
  1. Identify a historical character to research.
  2. Develop research questions based on the stages of the hero’s journey.
  3. Locate three *reliable* sources of information
  4. Take notes
  5. Write a summary of each article; must include title, author, source, page numbers.
  6. Turn notes into an ignite presentation.
  7. Include examples, details, quotations from each article that you read.
  8. Provide a complete, properly formatted works cited page.

[Process]
  1. Decide on a historical character to research. You may use the websites below to identify someone of interest to research:

  2. Transform each stage of the hero’s journey into a question to guide your research. An example would be to turn the “preparation” stage into a question like, “How did Jackie Robinson prepare for his journey and the obstacles he knew he would encounter along the way?”
  3. Find, read, and take notes on three sources. (Remember to create works cited entries ASAP)
  4. Turn your notes into an ignite presentation (5 minutes, 20 slides, slides advance automatically every 15 seconds) using the Ignite Presentation Planning Template.
  5. Practice, Practice, Practice your presentation.
  6. Produce your properly formatted works cited page.
  7. Present!
